In 1936, Jesse Owens made one of the most famous debuts in Olympic history, shocking the world by taking home four gold medals for the United States at the games in Berlin.

Meanwhile, some 4,500 miles from Germany, JR Freeman was making his debut on a quiet street in Spartanburg, SC, delivering propane fuel and comfortable security to friends and neighbors closer to home.

While it may not have made the papers, that latter event sure has changed some lives over seven decades – both inside the Freeman family and within our extended family of customers.

That family now includes businesses and residential customers in four states, where our 23 store locations serve areas throughout the Appalachian Mountain corridor. And a true family it is, with hundreds of customers now along for the ride with us for multiple generations.

Having that kind of trust from our customers is something we take great pride in – and something we work hard to keep. It’s what gets us out of bed in the morning, out on the road in bad weather, and on the phone any time you need us.

So once again, we thank you for the trust and business you’ve brought our way – whether you joined our family back in the day or just yesterday. It’s an honor to serve you, and we look forward to doing it for years to come.
